Of course, we might have heard about the discovery of Higgs Boson, which is also called “The God Particle”. We already have so many articles about the God Particle and its relativity with Tamil spirituality. This article is going to be even more precise about the exact relativity between the both.
Before moving to the concept of relativity, let’s have a short summary on the discovery of Higgs Boson.
To study about the sub-atomic particle and their properties, the world’s largest particle physics laboratory CERN had its fullest efforts in making it more successful in their discoveries.
Obviously, much explanation is not needed about CERN and their Hardship in building up the LCH [Large Hadron Collider] for the discovery of Higgs Boson and also to reveal about the Sub-atomic particles and their contribution in the evolution of entire Universe.
A question may raise in your mind, “What could be the connectivity between Higgs Boson and Tamil spirituality?”.
Well, keeping this question at the center, we could see the either sides. Firstly, CERN having a statue of Lord Shiva [Natarajar] at its prominent campus will put forth another question, “Why Lord Shiva has been placed at CERN? Why all the way from India it has been taken there?”.
The connectivity will be discussed in detail latterly. So, having the statue symbolise the contribution and association of India with CERN and it was gifted the same way, at June 2004.
The statue of Natarajar symbolise the cosmic dance of creation, destruction and the things in between. That helped the physicist on the research of particle physics to understand the basics of all existence.
After undergoing years of hard work and spending a huge amount in updating the LCH [Large Hadron Collider], they discovered Higgs Boson on 4 July 2012, which was predicted earlier by physicist Peter Higgs.
They have predicted that the mass of the Higgs Boson is 125 GeV/C2. Here the unit GeV/C2 stands for Giga Electron Volt/ Coulomb square. So we could image how tiny the mass of the Higgs Boson is.
Numerically, the mass of Higgs Boson can also be written as 0.000000000125 GeV/C2. So imagine how small it is and eventually this Higgs Boson decays rapidly.
Now CERN is working further more to study the properties of Higgs Boson.
Having all this in mind, let’s get in to the session, what’s the connectivity with Tamil spirituality.
Before the prediction of Higgs Boson by Peter Higgs at 1964, one of the famous Tamil saint and devotee of lord Shiva, Thirumoolar, who lived in 7th century, that is around 7000 years ago, recited Thirumurai [poem] on Higgs Boson.
One among the 12 Thirumurai, Thirumanthiram [ 10th Thirumurai among the 12] was recited and written by Thirumoolar. Thirumanthiram consist of 9 Thanthirams, among the 9, in 7th Thanthiram, Thirumoolar has said about Higgs Boson and how it will look like?.
The above four lines was said by Thirumoolar. This means, dividing an atom into thousand parts, among thousand parts lord Shiva is infused [mingled] in every thousand part. So imagine how small he is personified. One would meditate, in order to get his image and knowledge.
In the next Thanthiram, we will get still more clear idea about Higgs boson.
இவர் இங்கு குறிப்பிட்டுருப்பது சிவனுடைய வடிவைச் சொல்ல வேண்டுமாயின் ஒரு பசுவின் முடியை(மயிரை) எடுத்து அதை நூறாகக் கூறிட்டு, பின்பு அதில் ஒன்றை எடுத்து ஆயிரமாகப் பிரித்து, பின் அதில் ஒன்றை நான்காயிரமாக பிரித்தால் அதில் ஒன்றே சிவனின் வடிவு என்று கூறி இருக்கிறார் .
Hair is the tiniest one. So, when you take the hairs of cow, hardly it would be around 30-80 microns. So, in order to work out the above phrase numerically, let’s round off to 50 microns on whole.
Now converting this micron in to millimetre, we could get the size of a human hair.
50 microns – mm
50 microns = 0.05 mm [ size of human hair]
As Thirumoolar said dividing a single hair of a cow in to hundred parts, we would get;
0.05/100 = 0.0005 mm
Again dividing this by 1000;
0.0005/1000 = 0.0000005 mm
Dividing it further by 4000;
0.0000005/4000 = 0.000000000125 mm
So, this is the size of lord Shiva as Thirumoolar said. This is nothing but Higgs Boson, as it was latterly named.

Both are one and the same, but the only difference is, physicist have struggled a lot and spent a huge amount of money for the discovery of Higgs Boson. And our saint Thirumoolar found this very long back without any of these technologies. How was this possible for him?. The answer is still not in vicinage.
And moreover, if lord Shiva could personify into this smaller size as Higgs Boson, Thirumoolar was able to portray his picture, whereas, CERN was able to find its mass, but couldn’t say, how this Higgs Boson will look like?.
Let’s see how Thirumoolar portrayed lord Shiva [ Higgs Boson] through his yogic sense.
கரந்துங் கரந்திலன் கண்ணுக்குங் தோன்றான்
பரந்த சடையான் பசும்பொன் நிறத்தான்
அருந்தவர்க் கல்லால் அணுகலு மாகான்
விரைந்து தொழப்படும் வெண்மதி யானே
திருமூலர்-
இதில் அவர் கூறியிருப்பது என்னவெனில் அனைத்திலும் கலந்தும், கலக்காமலும் இருப்பவன், கண்ணனுக்குத் தெரியாதவன், பரந்த சடையுடையவன், பசும்போன்னிரத்தில் இருப்பவன் , நினைப்பவர்கெல்லாம் கிடைக்காதவன், அனைவரயும் மயக்கும் வெண்ணிலவானவானே என்கின்றார் திருமூலர். சிவபெருமானை பொன்னிறத்தில் உள்ளது போல் நினைத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள். இப்பொழுது உங்கள் கண் முன்னே நாம் வழக்கமாகக் காணும் சிவபெருமான் பொன்னிறத்தில் சடா முடியுடன் காட்சியளிப்பான். இப்பொழுது திருமூலர் கூறியவாறு அந்த உருவத்தை கண்ணுக்குப் புலப்படாமல் சிறியதாக மாற்றுங்கள். சராசரியாக ஒரு அணு அளவிற்கு..!
This means, the one who is infused [mingled] with everything in the world, the one who is beside everything in the world and seems to be he is not anywhere. The one who looks in golden colour with shagged hair, he won’t be visible until one has a deep search for him, who is worshiped like a glittering moon.
Now, think lord Shiva, how we see him today, imagine shrinking him beyond the size of atom, even beyond 0.000000000125 GeV/C2. That will give you the answer for the question, How Higgs Boson will look like?. The same as what Thirumoolar recited above.
All these things were already said by Thirumoolar in 10th Thirumurai during 7th century. So, we showed the connectivity between Higgs Boson and Tamil spirituality.
Especially, our Tamil Thirumurai has confined with everything, which can explain everything that science fails to do. So, it’s a big pleasure of having Thirumurai with us…!!
